Mind on Fire:
A mindfulness-based summer service, environmental stewardship, and adventure camp for teens
What can MIND ON FIRE do for your teen?
More than just a safe place to hang out for a week, the MIND ON FIRE youth group is a place where teens from all walks of life can learn skills for reducing stress, managing anxiety, building self-compassion, and connecting meaningfully with others.
Most importantly, the goal of MIND ON FIRE is to EMPOWER youth through taking action in their communities and in the world, and to become GLOBAL CITIZENS through an understanding of mindfulness, compassion, and service.
Each morning, students will participate in a guided mindfulness practice, reflect in a nonjudgmental community upon stress and anxiety in their own lives, create and participate in meaningful, student-led community service projects, connect, and energize with play and mindful movement.
Finally, MIND ON FIRE participants will have hands-on opportunities to earn service hours with local outreach and action projects, and to travel internationally.
Mindfulness practice can be used in a variety of educational, community, medical, therapeutic, and every day settings to effectively reduce stress, manage chronic pain, decrease depressive symptoms, relieve anxiety, support addiction recovery, and increase self compassion.
